Live Music: The AM (Acoustic Minds)

Acoustic Minds is a Portland-born, twin-fronted project led by identical sisters Jenni and Amanda Price—built on connection, instinct, and a shared pulse you can feel from the first note. They’ve been singing together their entire lives. Not learned—lived. That connection is the foundation of everything: the way they blend, the way they move, the way they build energy without ever needing to say it out loud.

What started as two voices has grown into something bigger. Alongside longtime collaborators Aaron Altemose and Josh Lorenzen (SubCo), Acoustic Minds has evolved into a full, immersive sound—layering lush harmonies with bass-driven grooves, modern production, and textured electronic elements.

The result lives in the in-between:

‍dreamy but grounded,
emotional but dancy,
polished but still raw where it matters.

Tasting: LDT Wine Co.

The LDT tale begins in Lake Tahoe with two friends, passionate about chasing down good wine, deep powder, and occasionally trouble.

After one particularly epic blower day, Christopher Stiffler and McIntosh Forrence settled down for a little après that transitioned into a big evening with more beverages. With stoke still high from the day's adventure, they stayed up late to ponder the meaning of life and the future. Fortune favors the bold and they weren't getting any younger. They agreed to follow their shared passion and that it was time to carve out their spot in the wine world.

That late night conversation turned into daytime discussions and serious strategic planning. Stiffler and Forrence determined it was time to leave their beloved Tahoe powder and, in 2014, LDT Wine Co. made their first vintage in the Willamette Valley.

Alas, the two hour drive to Meadows from the Valley was unbearable. In 2016 they jumped at the chance to move to the Columbia River Gorge, finally able to combine their passions for wine and skiing and feel that ol' familiar stoke a bit more often.

Paul Aguilar (Copio) is a multifaceted abstract artist. His work embodies a wide range of mediums from bold lined illustrations, vibrant acrylic paintings, to layered collaged renderings. Paul’s techniques meander depending on the season, or perhaps even the minute.

He is not afraid to clash textiles, scribble over past work to create something new, paint still life or create a caricature out of thin air. This rather loose and heavy handed approach to art has been what has kept him out of the creative doldrums over the years.

Paul stays true to his artistic working-class roots and is committed to creating unique works that are ambitious, affordable, and can offer an enriching space on any wall.

Tasting: Tierra de Lobos

Tierra De Lobos is a boutique operation from Dallesport, Washington with a tasting room in The Dalles, Oregon. The winery is operated by Adolfo and Gabino with an annual production of 1,000 to 1,500 cases.

The dream started in 2012, as Adolfo and Gamino looked to get out of the rainy Pacific Northwest and found themselves a little piece of heaven on the dryer side of the Cascades. The land already had three acres of established grapes, but they saw an opportunity to be more than just growers. And while they're not certified organic, they aim to treat their land with respect and refrain from using any chemicals or fungicides in their vineyard.

At Tierra De Lobos, they love to showcase the true characters and flavors of each grape varietal—their goal is to make wines as purely as possible with minimal intervention or additives. Their tasting room in The Dalles is right along the mighty Columbia River, where you can enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the gorgeous scenery!

Tasting: Marchesi Vineyards

Franco Marchesi’s passion for wine began in his hometown of Borgosesia, Piemonte, Italy. As a child he always wondered what it would be like to be a winemaker like his grandfather Achille. In 1977, when he was just twenty-two, Franco came to the states to work as a sommelier for a luxury cruise line based in San Francisco. After nine years at sea, he decided to stay permanently in San Francisco. His career in the world of wine lasted almost two decades. He became wine buyer for a leading San Francisco Italian restaurant, and soon found himself running his own import company specializing in Italian wines.

Not surprisingly, with over twenty years in the wine business under his belt, Franco found himself leaving California to live in Oregon’s Columbia Gorge region, where the latitude is exactly the same as his beloved birthplace of Piemonte. He fell in love with the spectacular landscape defined by Mount Hood. "The climate and soil here are just like Northern Italy," he muses.

Franco began planting his favorite Northern Italian grapes on an abandoned apple orchard in Hood River, which he purchased and started to revitalize in 2003. He found it was the ideal location for his very own winemaking business, Marchesi Vineyards & Winery.

Their estate is a blend of old-world charm and the breathtaking beauty of the Columbia Gorge. They craft their wines with a passion that reflects the rich heritage of Italian winemaking—each bottle tells a story of dedication and love for the craft.

Tasting: The Wines of Copertino & Sardinia

Founded in 1950 in the town of Serdiana by Salvatore Pala, PALA has been synonymous with Sardinian winemaking for generations. As one of the most geologically unique regions in the Mediterranean, this island is often called a “mini-continent,” with a landscape that ranges from snowcapped mountains to limestone hills and sandy shores. These conditions have nurtured native grape varieties like Vermentino, Cannonau, Nuragus, and Monica, which reflect the island’s distinctive climate and culture.

Sardinia’s natural environment lends itself to organic viticulture, and Pala has embraced this ethos fully with an approach called lutte raisonée - reasonable sustainability. The island’s abundant sunlight, coastal winds, and minimal rainfall create conditions that naturally reduce the need for chemical treatments. By prioritizing sustainability, Pala ensures healthier soils, cleaner water, and wines that reflect the purity of the region’s terroir.

Sardinia, one of the world's five "Blue Zones," is home to one of the healthiest and longest-living populations. This can be partly credited to the islanders' low-stress lifestyle, a healthy Mediterranean diet, and their substantial Sardinia wine consumption!

Tasting: Mendivia Wines' Fall Wines Release

Mendivia (Men-dée-via) is an Oregon winery rooted in a love of Spanish culture and grape varieties, a commitment to mindful winemaking, and appreciation for Oregon's unique vineyards.  Sourcing from solely organic and biodynamic vineyards, their wines are made with thoughtful craftsmanship to find the distinction in each vineyard site.

The name of the winery is rooted in winemaker and co-founder Colin Howard’s family heritage. His great-grandparents emigrated from Spain to Cuba, and from there to the U.S. However, Colin was always fascinated by his Iberian heritage and he felt an immediate connection to the culture during his visits to Spain. The unhurried pace of life, and the intentional and holistic approach to living resonated deeply with Colin—reclaiming the Mendivia name for his wine label felt meaningful and natural.

They are focused everyday on delivering wines that are compelling, energetic, and balanced.  Their wines are always made with food and dining in mind, but also to celebrate the "full table" experience.  Enjoy with friends and family, and they hope their wines can add to your lasting memories, no matter how big or small.

Join us for the Fall release of their 2024 "Dia Bonito" Albariño Threemile Vineyard and 2023 "La Carrera" Tempranillo Upper Five Vineyard.

Live Music: folkefire

Mike Phillips moved to Oregon in 2005 to explore its music scene and follow in the footsteps of his favorite artist at the time, Elliott Smith. Between 2006 and 2007 he joined a band with a popular run that included winning a Battle of the Bands at the Crystal Ballroom; releasing a single via Starbucks’ Hear Music record label; opening for acclaimed artists including Everclear and Seven Mary Three; touring 36 states —and immediately breaking up upon their return. Hailing back to a 90s-era PNW-style singer-songwriter tradition, he’s since turned his musical interests to pseudo-folk originals with an international flavor, storytelling, and Irish folk music specifically. In 2024 he moved to Gresham; folkefire is the latest incantation of his musical and personal interests.
